This was as close to Santa as Nicholas would go.  Santa is still mostly scary!

Nicholas is being a great helper

No he’s not really giving you a thumb’s up.  It’s a thumb’s out…he was proudly showing that his thumb wasn’t in his mouth for the picture.  We’ve been giving him a hard time about that lately.

Family - My Pride and Joy

Nicholas in front of the Oakland Temple. He enjoyed going in the visitors' center and running around on the grounds.
Me and my better half. We've still got it!!!
My two best boys at the ward Christmas party. We couldn't get Nicholas to sit on Santa's lap...oh well, maybe next year.

Week-end in Napa

Just a few pics from our Thanksgiving getaway for Carrie's b-day. We went cycling through Napa to check out the scenery. No, sorry, no wine-tasting for us. We also caught the Twilight sequel, New Moon. I got a kick out of all the teeny bopper girls going ooh every time one of the boys took his shirt off or somebody was about to kiss. I think there was a little too much estrogen in that theatre!

Happy Halloween!!

Nicholas was a hit at our ward "Trunk or Treat". He and Scarecrow made the rounds while I handed out the candy. Thanks mom for the lion costume!
I don't think Dorothy ever heard "Thriller", but I couldn't resist dancing along to the music : )
Life is grand in Oz...well Cheerio wasn't too happy being sprayed with black dye, but I think we found life is good along the yellow brick road. Happy Halloween!!! Until next year!!

Mmm, yummy!

Every Halloween, I make a theme dinner. This year I was tired so Mike came through with the grub (of course, I wasn't too tired to make the dessert : )

Mmm...look at those eyeballs and intestines. 4-star restaurant quality right?

Ahh, my boys. Nicholas loved the "eyeballs" and Mike loved the "ghosts in the graveyard" dessert I made. It's not hard to please these guys.

Fresh "Pics"

One of Nicholas' nicknames is Mr. Pics and here he is with some fresh "picks" from our garden. Mike made a yummy stir fry with the peppers and we ate apples from our tree. Are we becoming the Beverly Hillbillies or what?

Nicholas says "Appy 'Ween"

On Monday night we carved our pumpkin. Mike did a good job copying a little monster that Nicholas made at a birthday party a few months ago. Nicholas refused to touch the slimy "guts."

Cheerio was a good sport getting in the picture, even though he's probably wondering why we're making such a fuss over an orange ball with fire in it.

My two pumpkins...how can you not love Halloween with these two smiling faces : )

Pumpkin Patch

Nicholas loved seeing all the "baby pumpkins" at the pumpkin patch. He wanted to take them all home : )

This stuff sure is scratchy, but I'll climb on anything.

Look who's guarding the bridge to the animal farm...who's more ferocious, Nicholas and Dada or that alligator? Hmmm...it's a tie.

And we couldn't leave without buying a pumpkin. So Nicholas picked out his own baby one and Mike and I bought some acorn squash for dinner. Yes, I know this is a funny looking picture : )
