10th Anniversary

Isn't the 10th anniversary some kind of metal? Well, Mike came through and got me a new road bike. It's very light and I can now ride like the wind (unless I'm riding with Nicholas in the trailer behind me). Then it's like riding through mud. Anyway, just wanted to say that my husband is the BEST! We've had 10 fantastic years together (okay...nine and one bad one - whew that second year was a doozy). But I am blessed to be married to my best friend, most loyal supporter, and eternal companion. He's the one that allows me to find joy in the journey of life. So here's to you sweetheart...I love you more everyday!

Bustin' A Move

We dog sat this past week - here's Buster (a Wheaten Terrier) living it up at our place. He's a great dog, and he and Cheerio ran around like crazy every day together. You should've seen me trying to walk two dogs and a toddler every morning. What can I say, we're entertainment for the neighborhood : )
Why does it seem like our son's always naked? It sure saves on the laundry : ). No, Nicholas just prefers to bust a move in the buff when he's in his pool. And oooh look, bubbles galore this time.

The Wiggles

We went to see the Wiggles in concert and as you can tell, Nicholas is glued to the action on stage.

Nicholas has loved watching all the Wiggles dvds and he probably wishes he was in the "big red car" with them.

Murray came right out into the audience and waved as he passed by Nicholas. Nicholas calls him "red" for his shirt.

The show was fantastic and Nicholas sat enthralled the entire time. Mike and I have to admit too that we love the Wiggles! Anybody who can entertain Nicholas is great in our opinion.

First Tomatoes

The first tomato I have ever grown in my life - and oh so sweet! I had heard that I would be surprised by the burst of flavor compared to the ones from the produce section at the store. That is true!

My little container garden. You can see the herbs on the table - rosemary and cilantro, which has produced prolifically for several weeks now. In the back is the chamomile, green peppers, and tomato plants. I never would have imagined that my 6 inch tomato plants would become 4 ft tall, seeming to bust out of the cage at every angle. The 2 ft sliver along the fence was the sunniest spot in the yard - gets about 6 hours/day.

Maybe that one is tomorrow's pick.

3 peppers nearly ready to harvest - I see some great stir fry coming our way.

Happy 4th and Bath Time Fun!

Mr. Pics loved the parade - Cheerio didn't fare so well. Once the marching band with the drummers went by, Cheerio was a basket case.
You tell me if Nicholas likes his Crayola bath crayons...some toys are just marvelous inventions!
As far as he's concerned, they are perfect drawings of bees, cats, suns, & moons. I just nod my head and say yes.
the lizard and fish aren't a bad distraction, either.

We love the Burley

Nicholas is all ready for the morning bike ride to the lake for swimming practice. He's all rigged up with snacks, books, and the ever-present binkie. Carrie pulled the Burley for the 7 mile trip there and I pulled it on the way back. Sometimes we put Cheerio in there with Nicholas and ride up to the park. People get a kick out of that.
We're almost ready to go. We got some rental wetsuits to try out to figure out what size we're going to need and get used to swimming in them. We need to be ready for the 1 mile ocean swim for the triathlon in September. We took turns swimming while the other one played with Nicholas.
